Washington-Slagbaai National Park Closed Today Due to Weather
Because of rain and squalls associated with the tropical system Omar, the management of Washington-Slagbaai National Park has closed the park for the balance of the day. As of this morning, all buildings at Slagbaai were intact, and they have suffered very little damage due to the wind reversal and heavy seas associated with the weather system moving through.
Once the situation has normalized, management of the park will advise of any actual damage and/or when the park is accessible again. It is highly recommended, if you plan to visit the park soon, that you contact STINAPA at 717-8444 prior to driving to the park entrance to check to see if the park is open.
