The Wounded Warriors Finish their PADI Advanced Open Water Dives
On Thursday, the Wounded Warriors packed in three more dives throughout the day, before watching Captain Don’s Habitat “Week in Review” and then enjoying real Tex/Mex food at Papaya Moon Cantina.

The day began with another breakfast at Rum Runners Restaurant, and then the men went for their first dive of the day, their final dive for their PADI Advanced Open Water certifications. They did the deep dive from the Habitat dock, to a maximum depth of 126 feet. After a surface interval, some jumped on the boat for a late-morning dive, while others decided to relax and enjoy the sun.
Since Thursday was their final day of diving, the Warriors took advantage of the afternoon boat dive to make their last dive one that would be remembered. En route to the dive site at Klein Bonaire, their boat was surrounded by a large pod of dolphins cavorting around them. As any sailor worth their salt knows, this signifies good luck for those on board.
And good luck it was indeed for Warrior Hector Delgado, who had lost his dive watch on an earlier dive at Mi Dushi. Just by chance, the boat moored for this dive at Mi Dushi, and, while underwater, Hector’s wife, Andrea, just happened upon his dive watch! Just thank the dolphins, Hector!
The evening was also jam-packed, starting with the group watching “The Week in Review” at Captain Don’s Habitat. Then, they all arrived at Papaya Moon Cantina in Kralendijk for a Tex Mex dinner.
