The Netherlands Blazers Ensemble Gives Free Concert on Bonaire
The musical group, The Netherlands Blazers Ensemble, is touring the Dutch Antilles for the first time and will be playing on Bonaire, Aruba, and Curacao. The theme of their concerts is “Brisas di Musica” (Arms of Music). The Netherlands Blazers Ensemble is a very famous group of professional musicians, who tour all over the world and their performances are always very spectacular. They combine classical music with “world music”, music from other cultures and continents.
Together for more than twenty-five years, the group is well known for their concerts on New Years Day in Holland, as well as for accompanying Queen Beatrix on some of her foreign trips.
While touring the Dutch Antilles, the orchestra will play a special repertoire in which Antillean popular and classical influences will be very recognizable. Local artists like Papachi Salsbach, Linda Anthony, and Grupo Tutti Frutti from Rincon will participate in this concert, together with some young percussionists, under the leadership of Robert Swinkels.
The open-air concert on Bonaire will take place on Tuesday, September 16th at the Wilhelminaplein in Kralendijk. The concert will be free of charge and will start at 7:30 PM, and is organized by SKAL (Sekshon di Kultura Arte i Literatura) together with individuals who joined forces to make this concert a real musical and cultural happening for the people and visitors of Bonaire.
