The Island’s First Taste of Bonaire is This Sunday, June 22, 2008

As a followup to a recent story, Bonaire will hold a “Taste of Bonaire” this Sunday evening in Wilhelmina Park, to officially open the International Year of the Reef Week.

During the evening’s festivities, there will be live music by the group, Watapana, while those who stroll through the park can enjoy samples of Bonaire’s restaurant cuisine for FL 7.00 (USD $3.93) each.  There will be stalls where arts and crafts can be purchased, and a children’s parade celebrating the reef theme.

Of special note at this Sunday’s event, Lt. Governor Herbert Domacasse will sign the “Declaration of Reef Rights” on behalf of the Bonairean people, and Jan and Alexandra Cousteau of EarthEcho International will be on hand.

In addition to this Sunday evening, additional “Tastes of Bonaire” will be held on July 25, August 1, and September 19, 2008.  (Source:  TCB)
