The First Bonaire Kite Week to Take Place June 11 through 16, 2013

Kiting has become a popular sport on Bonaire, with enthusiasts visiting the island to improve their skills, training next to the locals who get to train every day.  However, there will be a full week of tips and training when Bonaire hosts its first Kite Week next June 11 through 16, 2013.

The week will be filled with clinics and free-style demonstrations, but the focus will be upon course racing.  It was hoped the course racing would be named as an Olympic event for the 2016 games, but that won’t happen quite yet.  However, that doesn’t mean that international competitions won’t continue at a fast pace around the world, as the sport grows with more participants.
