The Dutch Caribbean Nature Alliance (DCNA) Launches a New Dutch Language Web Site
DCNA launched a new web site in Dutch on October 10, 2010, to tie in with the BES Islands’ new status as a special municipality of Holland and bring attention to the area’s biodiversity.
The web site features current news items and also provides information on the coral reefs, sea grass beds, mangroves, rainforests and the unique biodiversity of this region. The DCNA was established in 2003 to support and assist the protected areas and parks along with other nature conservation efforts on the islands of Bonaire, St. Eustatius, Saba, St.Maarten, Curacao and Aruba. DCNA’s major goals are to create long term funding sources for nature conservation, highlight nature conservation as a major focus locally and internationally, create a centralized information and communication resource for issues related to biodiversity and protection of nature, and promote training, education and awareness of these issues.
