Susan Porter, author of Bonaire Shore Diving Made Easy, Offers Guided Dives
Susan Porter, well known for authoring Bonaire Shore Diving Made Easy, has just announced augmented services with guided dives. As the original “in-the-know” person regarding Bonaire’s famous shore diving, she is an excellent resource for those who think they have seen and done it all on Bonaire during their diving vacations.
Susan is a shore dive specialist with a passion for ALF (annoying little fish), fish behavior, as well as reef and environmental education. As a shore dive specialist, she has learned to take into account weather and sea conditions to ensure the easiest entry for all shore dives. There are many sites from which to choose, and dives will be tailored to the appropriate level of expertise, as well as what sea conditions and weather allow. There is always somewhere Susan can find to shore dive in Bonaire!
She is now offering the following guided dives:
Guided Shore Dive: This is a one- or two-tank morning trip. Dive sites are chosen based on the participants’ interests and the current conditions. Susan always tries to include at least one unmarked site.
Fish Identification: This is the same as a guided dive, but with a focus on helping to identify the many fish species found in Bonaire’s waters.
Lionfish Spotter/Hunter: Help Bonaire limit the population of this invasive species. On this one- or two-tank dive, participants will act as Susan’s spotter as lionfish are hunted. As a hunter, the focus is on how to use the ELF (lionfish elimination tool), lionfish behavior, and buoyancy. Participants must act as a spotter at least once before being taught hunting techniques.
