STINAPA and STCB Organize a Beach Cleanup on Sunday, September 16, 2007
Bonaire’s beaches remain clean and beautiful because the island takes care of them. Also in conjunction with World Cleanup Day, STINAPA and the STCB are organizing a shoreline beach cleanup on Sunday, September 16, 2007.
Those interested in helping out should meet at the Harbour Village Marina by the pump station at 7:30 AM, where they will be transported to No Name Beach on Klein Bonaire. Keeping No Name Beach clean and free from debris is paramount as many of Bonaire’s nesting sea turtles lay their eggs on this beach.
The cleanup is expected to take about a half day, with participants returning to the marina about mid-day, although those that need to be back earlier can be accommodated. Refreshments are provided by Freewinds. (Source: STINAPA)
