Saturday’s Events Can Be Fun and Educational

There’s two events scheduled for tomorrow, November 10th, 2012, which will not only be fun, but can be educational as well.  In the morning, learn how artisan goat cheese is made, and in the evening, find the perfect wine to pair with it.

Alleta’s Semper Kontentu Goat Farm will be holding their open kunuku tomorrow from 8:00 AM until 12:00 Noon.  This is a great time to purchase fresh goat milk, cheese, or yogurt.  Their “surprise” package is always a bonus and offers some great food items.  Not only will those visiting the farm learn about the process of making this fine cheese and other goat milk products, but there’s lots of young, baby goats, which are eager to pose for those picture-perfect images.  To find Aletta’s Semper Kontentu Goat Farm, take the road to Rincon from Kralendijk, and just after the football fields, take the first dirt road on the left.  Follow the white stones to the farm.

Then in the evening, head over to the store of Antillean Wine Company at Kaya Industria #23, when from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, they will be offering two whites, one rose, and two red wines to sample.  Entry to the wine tasting is $10.00 per person.  This is another great opportunity to learn more about the fine wines available here on Bonaire.
