Mangazina di Rei Celebrates Its Tenth Anniversary with an Open House

To celebrate its tenth anniversary, Mangazina di Rei will host an open house for everyone--tourists and locals alike--on Sunday, December 17, 2006 from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM.  The day will be marked with all sorts of activities for everyone--dancing, music, food, and drink.

Mangazina di Rei (translated means the King’s Warehouse) is one of Bonaire’s popular outdoor museums with the main house being the second oldest building on Bonaire. It was originally used to store crops grown by the local farmers, called kunukeros.

In recent years, the structure has been completely restored. A botanical garden, a museum, and a community center are all planned or in the process of being completed. The Mangasina is an important part of the history of Rincon and her people.  (Source:  Mangazina di Rei)
