Duo Extreme Bonaire Mountain Bike Event to be Held October 16, 2011
After a successful event in 2010, the event organizers have decided to repeat this popular mountain bike competition and make it an annual event. The 2011 Duo Extreme will be held on Bonaire on Sunday, October 16, 2011, when over 100 participants from Aruba, Curacao, Venezuela, Colombia, The Netherlands, USA, and Bonaire are expected to compete for the grand prize.

The contestants will race an extreme and challenging mountain-bike trail of 79 kilometers throughout a large part of Bonaire and they will compete in pairs, hence “duo extreme.” Participants are to meet on Sunday morning at 5:30 AM at Divi Flamingo Beach Resort, and the start of the race will begin at 6:30 AM. The finish is also at Divi Flamingo Resort, where many spectators are expected, and a hot buffet lunch will be served to the participants until 2:00 PM. The award-ceremony is at 12:00 Noon.
Registration will take place at Divi Flamingo Resort on Friday, October 14th and Saturday, October 15th from 5:00 PM through 7:00 PM. Click here for the rules, and click here for the registration form. The entry fee is $50.00 per duo.
There are over $3000.00 in cash prizes in the following categories: Women combined 50-100, men combined 50-100, mix combined 50-100, junior, and senior.
