Dia di Rincon (Rincon Day) to be Celebrated Tomorrow
April 30, 2011 will be the 22nd celebration of the Dia di Rincon, a day of Bonairean culture, music and food. April 30 is a legal holiday in the Dutch Kingdom as the celebration of the Queen’s Birthday and is also the celebration in Bonaire of Rincon Day.
The event starts around 11:00 AM and usually goes until around midnight, providing residents and visitors a chance to take in the various types of Bonairean music and dancing on variouse stages, foods, crafts and fun. The Simadon parade, a celebration of the harvest, will begin in the later afternoon, around 5:00 PM.
This year’s celebration will also include the one year anniversary of Posada Para Mira, which is just above Rincon overlooking the city. The celebration will start today at 11:00 AM with local food and drinks and featuring music by Grupo Eso and DJ Fe at 8:00 PM. and continue on Saturday starting at 5:00 PM, providing a cool and refreshing view of Rincon and music by Grupo Pachanga and Takla from Aruba.
