Bonaire Oceanfront Villa Is Ready for 2010/2011 Season

Bonaire Oceanfront Villa 9 is pleased to announce that it has completed further renovations during 2010 and the property is now ready to accept divers and leisure vacationers during the upcoming high season in 2011.  Over the past three years, the villa has received a variety of improvements that can only enhance the experience that divers will have when vacationing at the property.

These renovations have been extensive, and include new features throughout the villa, including a new kitchen which has been completely redone and enlarged to twice its previous size.  There are all new appliances, including a full-sized refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and coffeemaker, as well as new windows and cabinetry.

Windows throughout the villa have been replaced, and the new louvered windows allow Bonaire’s trade winds to cool the interior, while providing a safe environment.  The interior has also been refurbished with new furniture in the living area and a cable TV/DVD player and WIFI access.  Three bathrooms have been totally renovated, while the other two have new tile and fixtures.  All bedrooms have new split-unit air-conditioning, which offers quiet functioning as compressors are outside.

The villa’s outdoor living spaces have all been upgraded:  The third-floor roof-top terrace has new terra cotta tile flooring, while the two bedroom balconies on the second floor have had roofs added to them, allowing all-day use regardless of the weather.  The backyard covered patio has been updated, including new teak furniture.  Lighting has been added to the seaside pavilion, so it can be enjoyed during evening hours.

The entire exterior of the villa has been freshly painted, and the parking area enlarged to accommodate up to three vehicles.

Golden Reef Inn Launches New Web Site

Golden Reef Inn has just announced that they have launched a new, renovated web site with the goal of having it be more user-friendly for their guests.

The website is full of new pictures of the Golden Reef Inn property and their accommodations.  Visitors can also view room rates, packages, as well as specials that the property is currently offering.  Via an on-line translator, the site can be viewed in many different languages, such as Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese, or more.

Using the new highlighted menu bar, visitors will be able to make direct inquiries or book on-line.  The new Links page provides information that will help visitors to Bonaire learn more about the island or find other activities to plan during their vacation.

Club Roomers Welcomes Back Jim Gilmour for an Evening of Contemporary Folk Music

Club Roomers will host a musical evening on Friday, April 16th, 2010, when Jim Gilmour returns to present an evening of contemporary folk music that is called, “Not your Daddy’s folk music.”

Bonaire’s own Gio Mercera will be accompanying Jim on keyboard.  The evening will begin with Hotel Roomers’ usual Happy Hour with half-price drinks from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.  An optional full BBQ buffet (all you can eat) will be served at 6:00 PM, for FL 35.00 (about $19.70), and the concert will begin at 7:00 PM.  Admission is FL 15.00 (about $8.50) per person for a donation to the Club Roomers Charity Fund, but Club Roomers members are free.  Reservations are recommended (call 717-7488) for those who wish to enjoy the BBQ buffet.

Sand Dollar Condominium Resort Announces New Management

Sand Dollar Condominium Resort is pleased to announce that Gilberto Lira has been named General Manager effective immediately.

Mr. Lira is of Antillean birth, and he has more than twenty years of experience in the hotel, restaurant, and tourism industry within the Antilles. He has worked in management positions in several highly regarded Caribbean resorts—Sunset Beach Resort, Divi Flamingo Beach, and the Plaza Resort in Bonaire, La Cabana and Divi Tamarijn in Aruba, and Pelican Resorts and Atrium Beach Resort in Sint Maarten, and he’ll bring the skills, drive, and enthusiasm to focus upon high quality service and customer satisfaction.

Gilberto has a BS in Hospitality Management from Florida International University and a diploma in Hotel & Restaurant Management from the Aruban Hospitality Trade Training Center, along with a certification in Leadership & Motivation from Cornell University and training certifications from the Caribbean Hospitality Training Institute. He speaks fluent English, Spanish, Dutch, and Papiamentu.

The Spa at Habitat Opens, Launches New Web Site

The Spa at Habitat has opened its doors just in time for the holiday season and it has launched a brand new web site offering a 10% discount on appointments made in advance.

The Spa at Habitat offers a full line of individual or couples massages by the sea, along with a large menu of nail care services or body treatments.  Run by Omaira Nicolaas and Alda Dirksz, both of whom are well known in the spa world of Bonaire, this new addition will prove to be popular with guests staying in the northern hotels or even those in private villas in Sabadeco.

The Spa is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM through to 6:00 PM, Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.  Services for times other than these are by appointment only.  The Spa is also proud to be a smoke-free environment, and one can sip a complimentary coffee, tea, or water while being pampered.  Organic body lotions and treatments are available for sale, and they make wonderful holiday gifts.
