Spinning and Body Balance Come to Bonaire’s Bon Bida Spa and Gym
What better way to burn off the excesses of this weekend’s Karnival celebrations than to begin Monday morning with an energizing spinning class? Bon Bida Spa and Gym is adding new dimensions to their already impressive line of fitness classes.

At 6:00 AM on Monday morning, March 7th, Bonaire’s cycling guru, Miguel Angel Brito, will kick-off the first spinning class at Bon Bida Spa & Gym. Afterward, a full schedule of spinning classes will be available by Miguel and other instructors. Spinning is a group class conducted on a stationary spinning bike and set to music which simulates the various challenges of bike riding, and it is a vigorous aerobic workout which burns calories and keeps your muscles in shape. The instructor will guide participants through a series of phases, from warm-up to more challenging phases, to a period of peak effort followed by a cool down. The intensity of the workout is influenced by your pedal rate, the resistance of the bike’s flywheel, and by the rider’s body position, as you either pedal from a seated position or rise from the saddle. Each Monday, Miguel will have a class from 6:00 to 7:00 AM and Tina Woodley will guide a class from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. Tuesday’s class will be taught by Tina from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. On Wednesdays, Annemieke will lead class from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. On Fridays, there are two more choices with Tina from 9:00 to 10:00 AM or with Miguel from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. Weekend classes are also offered on Saturdays with Tina and Sundays with Annemieke, both from 9:00 to 10:00 AM.
And Miguel will also introduce a new class called Balance Your Body each Thursday from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. This class is a combination of yoga, pilates, and tai chi. Participants of all levels are welcome and may choose their level of challenge from beginning to advanced.
For those who would like to participate, the classes are included in the gym’s membership price at no additional charge. For those who would just like to attend one or two classes each week without having access to the full gym facilities, that can also be arranged. Bon Bida offers several levels of membership, including a day pass for those visitors who would like to attend. For additional information, phone 717-7224 or email by clicking here.
