It’s Mid-Week for the Wounded Warriors on Bonaire
With their week on Bonaire passing quickly, the Wounded Warriors have only a few more days to enjoy the island. On Wednesday, they spent the day diving, before enjoying dinner at Patagonia Argentinean Restaurant.

The men began their day with a morning dive on the wreck of the Hilma Hooker, a 100’ dive at the southern portion of the island. After lunch, the men jumped onto the boat at Captain Don’s Habitat for a second dive. All of the Warriors are working on their PADI Advanced Open Water certifications, and these dives were part of that course.
For dinner, the men and their escorts were transported to Patagonia Argentinean Restaurant, where the Palacios Family awaiting them. This is the third year that the restaurant has been sponsoring a dinner for these special men in order to recognize the sacrifices which they’ve made for their country. When this reporter left the Warriors, the biggest decision of the moment was whether to order the Land ‘n’ Sea (fillet mignon and shrimp) or the 23-oz. prime rib!

The Wounded Warriors Meet Bonaire’s Lt. Governor--Day Three
The Wounded Warriors have completed one more busy day on Bonaire. It appears they have taken to diving like fish to water, making three more dives on Tuesday, before meeting Bonaire’s Lt. Governor at a dinner party in their honor at his residence.

The evening started off with being escorted in a biker’s parade by the Bonaire Bikers Club. After boarding their Bonaire Tours bus, the bikers and warriors continued through the streets of Kralendijk, before ending at the residence of the island’s Lt. Governor.
There they were greeted by the second Lt. Governor, Edward Thielman, and his wife, Nydia, and Mrs. Domacasse, the wife of the first Lt. Governor, who, unfortunately, was away for state affairs. Also invited were all the event sponsors, so that the Warriors could meet them and thank them for their contributions.
After a time for socializing, there were a few short speeches by island dignitaries and certificates were awarded to all the Warriors. However, the Warriors had their own plans and then awarded plaques of recognition to all event sponsors, including a specially signed “warrior” t-shirt to Lt. Governor Thielman.
Then dinner was served, and afterward, the Warriors headed back to Captain Don’s Habitat to rest up for another day on Bonaire.
