Susan Davis - Biography

Susan Davis relocated to Bonaire in October, 1992 from Naperville, Illinois, about 35 miles southwest of Chicago. Prior to her move, she worked in the Mergers and Acquisitions Department for a major Wall Street firm during the merger mania of the 1980s.

Deciding that life was too short for constant 16-hour work days, she resigned her position, sold her house, and up and left for Bonaire's peace and quiet, where she begin a new career as a dive instructor, specializing in underwater photography. Unfortunately, within a year, her administrative skills came to the attention of the then-owners of the dive shop, and Susan was asked to take over the company's management, moving her out of the water and back behind a desk, where she eventually became the majority shareholder of the company. During this time, Susan served as President, Vice President, and Treasurer of CURO (The Council of Underwater Resort Operators), President of BAT (Bat Action Group), and Vice President of the Bonaire Nature Alliance.

And here she stayed until January, 2005, when she joined Jake Richter in running NetTech, N.V.

Susan's duties with NetTech include web design and hosting support for a variety of clients, many of whom do business on Bonaire. Additionally, she is responsible for the updates of InfoBonaire, Bonaire's most complete and up-to-date web site for tourism information to the island. Susan also provides graphic art services, including photo shoots and ad development. And, in her free time, Susan adds informative entries to Bonaire Insider.
